Lettrétage@Frankfurt 2014 | Impressions, part I
Ten Finnish writers dramatize their texts together with two professional theater directors and present them collectively on stage.
„Kompositio“, a literary tour through Germany, Switzerland and Austria in October 2014, redefines the form of traditional literary reading and borrows freely from other arts, such as theater, music, dance and performance art.
The tour is connected to Finland’s status as the guest of honor at the Frankfurt Book Fair in October 2014.
The participating writers are Aina Bergroth, Kaisa Ijäs, Pauliina Haasjoki, Matti Kangaskoski, Maria Matinmikko, Riikka Pelo, Mikko Rimminen, Satu Taskinen, Eino Santanen and Henriikka Tavi. The artistic concept will be made under the direction of two theater directors Anna-Mari Karvonen andAkse Pettersson.
The multilingual performances use both the Finnish original versions and German translations, many of which are specially made for the project. The German translations will also be available as a book at the performance venues and at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
The tour is organized by the Finnish literary association Nuoren Voiman Liitto (NVL) in association with FILI – Finnish Literature Exchange, The Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture, Arts Promotion Centre Finland and literature houses in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
